Honey Baked Cinnamon Plantains

This recipe is one of our family’s favorites. It’s easy to make and a healthy treat that can be quickly thrown together.

Here’s what you’ll need:

– 1 plantain
– 2 table spoons cinnamon
 – 2 table spoons coconut oil
– .15 oz honey

Rub coconut oil on the bottom of the baking dish, place sliced plantains on top of the oil and add cinnamon. Then add a small amount of coconut oil to the top to keep the plantains moist and drizzle honey over the top. Bake at 280 for 20 minutes or as much as you want to make crispier.

What makes this recipe so healthy?

1. Cinnamon

  •  Studies have proven Cinnamon effective for menstrual pain and infertility. Cinnamon is also known to regulate blood sugar and it also reduces pain linked to arthritis. It is a Anti-fungal that has an anti-inflammatory effect. Traditional medicine has used cinnamon for years for indigestion, gas and bloating, stomach upset, and diarrhea.

2. Coconut oil

  • There are numerous benefits of coconut oil, it boost metabolism, fights infections, helps boost immune and creates healthy skin and hair just to name a few.

3. Plantains

  • Plantains and bananas are a good source of vitamins and minerals and provide 25% of the required carbohydrate requirements for over 70 million people in Africa.

4. Honey

  • Honey is a natural immune booster that also helps with stomach ulcers and sore throats and coughs, not to mention a sweet treat.
